Required Equipment: ------------------------------------------ Lonnie Ward 5-11-12 Comments: The class hours on Sunday, June 10 for current Freedom Plan Members will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Class size is to be limited to no more than 6 students. On June 1, if slots remain available, the additional slots will be opened up to new members, who will need to arrive at Noon for the DCSA Orientation and paperwork. Due to this being somewhat of an "experimental class", we do not have "normal" pre-registration software in place. Current Freedom Plan members wanting to pre-register may use the following procedure: 1. Go to the "Handguns 101" page on this web site. 2. Use the Eventbrite software and select the June 10 date. 3. Select the $131.88 option, then enter the previously provided member discount code for a class cost of $100. On June 1 or after, new members can follow the same procedure, yet without the discount code, for a class cost of $131.88. Although Wallace suggested bringing 50 rounds of ammo above, he did say students will not necessarily be shooting all of it, that most people may want to retain some of it after leaning how it patterns. With that said, you may want to purchase a few different brands of buckshot, as stated, preferably "reduced recoil". (Yet if a semi-automatic, full power loads may be required for proper function.) If questions or needing help in getting pre-registered, let me know at dcsa1996@yahoo.com or on cell at 972.849.0075. Or, better still, come out during one of the several Open House periods scheduled in the next few weeks. P.S. If interest in this type of "Defensive Shotgun" class, but the June 10 date does not work for you, send me an e-mail so that you can be put on a contact list for possibly another class of this type in the future. Wallace and I have also been discussing the possibility of a
special "Beyond the CHL Class" and/or one that includes some of
DCSA's rather unique lighting options to focus on low-light/no
light/flashlight/laser shooting. Again, e-mail me if interest and I will put you
on a contact list in the event we put together such later. LW 5-11-11
Private training only with only one or two students. Typical Prerequisite: NRA Personal Protection Course elsewhere or at least classroom portion of CHL Course at DCSA.
