Retail Sales
Having no "standard office hours" and extremely limited interior space, DCSA does very little volume in "retail sales". Unlike some ranges, DCSA does not rent, sell or special order firearms, although we may order and install some items like laser sights.
A small amount 9mm handgun is generally on hand at $15.00 per box.
Other calibers of ammo may or may not be on hand at a higher price.
Most stocked ammo at DCSA is primarily for the convenience of first-time students who might not know in advance what they need to purchase.
In general, target ammo (FMJ - Full Metal Jacket) is recommended in the lightest weight (expressed in grains) available. Example: If a choice in .38 Special between 158 grain and 130 grain, buy the 130 grain. Such if often stocked at local retailers such as Academy, Bass Pro Shop, Cabella's or Dick's Sporting Goods. Typically, the "best buy" is often Winchester 100-round "value packs" at your local Wal-Mart. (If 9mm, get the 115 grain FMJ).
DCSA may sporadically stock a small inventory of educational materials, targets, T-shirts, alarms, "pig pipes", "burglar blasters" and bird kite windsocks as partially depicted below.

"PIG PIPES" - New for 2006
You needing to keep feral hogs coming around to feed - without them necessary having to root for bait? These "pig pipes" could be the answer to put meat in the freezer or simply eliminate some pests without having to spend a lot of money on bait.
The concept is rather simple. Fill the pipe with corn (or your other favorite bait) and chain the pipe to a post or tree. The hogs' rolling the pipe around will dispense small quantities of corn. The longer they work at it, the less corn comes out, but typically enough to keep them interested.
Both the 3" and 4" diameter pipes are slightly over 5' long and come complete with 8' of chain with quick links on each end.

Various Silhouette Targets such as shown below are typically stored in footlockers just beneath benches in the firing room. The large targets are $1.00 each or (4-color) $1.50 each while smaller targets are $0.50 each. Freedom Plan members can help themselves and place cash or checks in drop slot in the foyer. Other purchases are possible during "open house" periods.
